Tracer Wire PE 30/45

Description
Tracer Wire is a solid copper conductor insulated with a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) which is classified as high
molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE). It provides excellent abrasion, crush, chemical, oil and moisture resistance.
Application
Suitable for direct burial to facilitate the detection and tracing of underground utility systems.
Construction
Conductor: Solid or stranded copper per spec ASTM B-1, B-3, or B-8.
Insulation: High molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE)
Color Coding: Yellow, Blue, and Green (other colors, subject to minimum run)

Installation
Tracer wire should be installed adjacent to (on top or beside) the pipe being traced and can be covered by soil when the utility trench is backfilled. Tracer wire is designed for direct contact with soil.
This specification describes a single conductor tracer wire. It is intended to carry a radio signal to aid in the location of buried utility lines.
The wire may be identified by surface printing, indicating manufacturer, conductor size. Custom Legends available.
